CNMI participated in The Ocean Conservancy’s 29th Annual Island Wide Clean Up (part of the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC)) with close to 1,400 participants collecting over 9.8 TONS of trash (19,600 pounds!) over the two-day event, Friday and Saturday, September 26 and 27.
During the ICC last year, CNMI was part of the nearly 650,000 volunteers in 92 countries around the world that picked up more than 12.3 million pounds of trash!
Thank you to the 60 different government agencies, schools, and private organizations who pitched in across Saipan, Tinian, and Rota to help keep our oceans litter free. If we each do a little, together we can truly make a difference.
